The home/hospital program serves young people who will miss school for five (5) consecutive school days. To qualify, an application must be completed by a licensed physician, psychiatrist, psychologist or an advanced nurse practitioner to verify that a child’s medical condition prevents him/her from attending school due to illness or injury. Applications are available in the Student Services Department or at the child’s local guidance counselor’s office. Students are visited twice weekly by their homebound teacher in either their home or at the local hospital. Mr. Rogers serves as the full-time homebound teacher for the Hardin County Schools. Numerous certified teachers work on a contractual basis to assist Mr. Rogers. Hardin County Schools has five full time teachers at Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System. They are Angela Bernardi, Savannah Boone, Amy Menendez, Robert Moore and Daiva Sparks. Emma Tade serves as an instructional assistant.
